Three lasers, one pass, cold on top.
Most clinics own one laser wavelength and treat every client with it. That works well for one narrow combination — dark coarse hair on pale skin — and poorly for everything else.
The Soprano ICE Platinum fires three wavelengths through the same applicator at once. Between them they cover fine hair, coarse hair, shallow follicles and deep ones, on skin from the palest to the deepest. Nobody gets told their hair or skin is unsuitable because the machine only knows one trick.

Every setting on this device is chosen by a person. Wavelength blend, fluence, pulse width and number of passes all change with your skin type, your hair and the area being treated. The device makes good outcomes possible; the technician makes them happen.

About the technology.
What makes the Soprano ICE Platinum different? +
Two things. It blends three laser wavelengths in a single applicator instead of using one, so it can treat fine hair, coarse hair and deeper follicles in the same pass. And it uses SHR — gradual heating in motion rather than single high-energy shots — with a sapphire tip chilled to 5°C held against the skin throughout.
Is it actually less painful, or is that marketing? +
It is a real mechanical difference. Older machines fire a high-energy pulse that heats the follicle quickly, which is the snap people remember. SHR raises the follicle temperature gradually over many low-energy passes while the surface is actively cooled. Most clients describe it as a hot stone massage.
Is it safe on dark skin? +
Yes, across Fitzpatrick types I to VI. The 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength passes through surface pigment to reach the follicle, which is what makes deeper skin tones treatable. Single-wavelength alexandrite machines were the source of laser burn stories on dark skin.
Can it treat tanned skin? +
The machine can, but Sukh will not treat a fresh tan. Recently tanned skin has elevated melanin at the surface and treating it raises the risk of pigment change. Two weeks clear of sun and self-tanner, no exceptions.
Is it approved for use in Canada? +
The Alma Soprano platform is a Health Canada licensed medical device. Skin Bar Spa uses the ICE Platinum model, maintained and calibrated as the manufacturer specifies.
Does a better machine mean fewer sessions? +
Somewhat — blended wavelengths catch a wider range of follicle depths and hair calibres per pass, so results tend to come more evenly. But hair grows in cycles, and no machine changes that. Six to eight sessions remains the honest answer.
