Why Laser

Shaving is a chore you never finish.

Every other method is maintenance. Waxing means growing hair out before you can remove it. Shaving lasts a day and leaves you with stubble, ingrowns and razor burn. Laser is the only approach that reduces the hair permanently, so the problem gets smaller every session instead of coming back every week.

01 It gets better, not repeated Each session permanently disables the follicles caught in their growth phase. By session four most clients are shaving once a fortnight instead of daily.
02 No more ingrowns Because the follicle is gone rather than cut, the cycle of ingrown hairs and dark spots on the bikini line and underarms breaks for good.
03 Faster than you think Underarms take about five minutes. Both full legs take around forty. You can come after work — the studio is open until 9pm.
04 Nothing to grow out first You shave before you come. Unlike waxing, you are never stuck walking around waiting for hair to get long enough to treat.

What Happens

From first call to last session.

01 Free consultation and patch test Twenty minutes. Sukh assesses your skin type and hair, explains realistic expectations, and patch tests so you know exactly how it feels before committing to anything.
02 Shave, do not wax Shave the night before. Skip sun, self-tanner and retinoids for two weeks beforehand.
03 Your sessions, four to six weeks apart The gap is not arbitrary — it matches the hair growth cycle so each session catches a new group of active follicles.
04 Maintenance, if you want it Once you are clear, most clients need nothing. Some come once a year to catch hormonally activated follicles.

The Technology

The machine is the whole difference.

Three wavelengths blended in one applicator, and a sapphire tip chilled to 5°C held against your skin throughout. It is why treatment is comfortable and why it is safe on every skin tone — not marketing, just physics.

“I went to a few spas in the past but I always felt rushed and their machine was very painful. My experience with Sukh was the complete opposite. I felt absolutely no pain.”

Questions

What clients ask first.

Does laser hair removal hurt? +

On the Soprano ICE Platinum, most clients describe it as a warm sensation rather than a snap — a bit like a hot stone massage. The applicator uses a chilled sapphire tip that keeps the surface of your skin cool while the heat reaches the follicle underneath, so there is no elastic-band sting people associate with older machines.

How many sessions will I need? +

Most people need six to eight sessions for a lasting result, spaced four to six weeks apart. Hair grows in cycles and the laser only affects follicles in the active growth phase, which is why one session can never do the whole job. Coarse hair on the underarms and bikini often responds fastest; fine hair on the face usually takes the most patience.

Can I have laser on darker skin? +

Yes. This is exactly why the machine matters. The Soprano ICE Platinum blends three wavelengths, including an Nd:YAG at 1064 nm that reaches the follicle without targeting surface pigment. It is safe across Fitzpatrick types I through VI. Older single-wavelength machines were not, which is where the reputation for burns came from.

What do I need to do before my appointment? +

Shave the area the night before or the morning of — do not wax, pluck or use epilators for four weeks, because the laser needs the hair root in place to work. Avoid sun exposure and self-tanner for two weeks, and come with clean skin, no lotion or deodorant on the treatment area.

Is it permanent? +

The correct term is permanent hair reduction. Treated follicles do not come back, but hormones can activate new ones over the years, which is why some clients come back for a single maintenance session annually. Most consider that a fair trade for never shaving again.

Can I have it done while pregnant? +

No. It is not that laser has been shown to be harmful — it is that it has not been studied in pregnancy, so the responsible answer is to wait. Hormonal changes during pregnancy also affect hair growth, so results would be unpredictable anyway.
